According to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan's decision, Ramazon Ahmadkhojaevich Ashrapov has been designated as the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and will lead the Investigation Department. This announcement was made by Polat Bobojonov, the Minister of Internal Affairs, during a meeting attended by Doniyor Qodirov, an advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan responsible for coordinating the activities of law enforcement and oversight bodies.
During the meeting, a thorough assessment of investigation and forensic activities was conducted, focusing on enhancing the skills of investigators and experts. There was also a discussion on advancing the system through innovative and scientific approaches, including collaboration with the newly established Research Institute of Criminology. Assignments were given to implement modern legal and scientific advancements in information exchange, decision-making processes, and ensuring information security and cyber security in the field.
Additionally, crime-fighting efforts, alignment with the objectives outlined in the public security concept, early prevention of offenses, maintaining service discipline and legality compliance, and other relevant aspects were critically examined.
Managers of the sector provided their suggestions and opinions on the raised issues and pending matters. Specific tasks were outlined to address the identified shortcomings and guide future efforts.
For background, Ramazon Ashrapov previously served as the deputy head of the DIA in the Tashkent region and led the Investigation Department under the DIA.
