Official confirmation stated that Gafur Rahimov is not wanted. The Vice-President of the Professional Boxing Federation of Uzbekistan and a member of the Supreme Council of the International Boxing Council (WBC) mentioned that no search had been announced nor any criminal case initiated. Daniyor Toshkhojaev, the first deputy head of Tashkent HDIA, made this announcement today, December 12.

There were circulating rumors on social media about Rahimov's departure from Uzbekistan and his alleged wanted status. Toshkhojaev emphasized that no search had been declared for Gofur Rahimov, and no criminal case had been initiated against him.

Gafur Rahimov, aged 72, is reportedly listed as the head of a criminal group according to information on Wikipedia. In 2012, the US Federal Bureau of Investigation took an interest in Rahimov's business activities, labeling him as one of the leaders of the "Circle of Brothers" criminal group, which comprises individuals from the former Soviet Union.

The official website of the US Department of Treasury mentions Rahimov's involvement in criminal activities.

To recall, earlier, Doniyor Tashkhojaev, the first deputy head of Tashkent IIBB, announced the imposition of imprisonment as a preventive measure for Salim Abduvaliev ("Salimboyvachcha"), Bakhtiyor Qudratullaev ("Bakhti Tashkentsky"), and Saidaziz Saidaliev ("Saidaziz medgorodok").
