Authorities bust fraudulent job scheme promising European employment to citizens

3991Fraudsters who promised to send citizens to Great Britain, Canada, and the European Union to work in Uzbekistan have been caught. This was reported by the General Prosecutor's Office.
It was noted that during the investigation conducted by the Samarkand city department regarding the protection of citizens' rights and interests, citizen A.Sh., citizen Sh.B., and others promised to send individuals to England for work. Instead, they were found to have fraudulently obtained $18,000 USD.
During a swift operation held in cooperation with the Altinkol district department and the State Department employees, citizen Kh.T. was caught with physical evidence when he received $3,000 USD from citizen S.K., promising to send him to work in Canada.
Similarly, citizen I.J. was caught with physical evidence while claiming he would get an E.X. visa for a job in Serbia or Bulgaria for $1,500 USD, fraudulently receiving $500 USD.
"Criminal cases have been initiated under Article 168 (fraud) of the Criminal Code, and investigations are ongoing," the report says.
