A 36-year-old man has been arrested after reportedly assaulting a 21-year-old in the center of the Fergana region, Uzbekistan. The Regional Department of Internal Affairs confirmed the arrest of the suspect, identified as O.Kh.

The accused stated, "My father was tending sheep in a nearby field when the young man insulted him, calling him 'lame.' I confronted the individual and demanded an apology. When he refused, I lost my temper and struck him."

Preliminary reports from the district central hospital indicate that the victim, A.B., sustained soft tissue injuries to the head, face, nose, and inner surface of the lips.

A criminal case has been initiated against O.Kh. under Article 277, Part 1 (Hooliganism) of the Criminal Code, and he has been taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing.
