Fergana resident was arrested for operating an illegal casino at home

A 61-year-old resident of the Shifokor neighborhood in the Fergana district, identified as Sh.Kh., was arrested for setting up an illegal casino in his house. The arrest was made during the "Dolzarb 10-day" special preventive measures, according to the Fergana Regional Department of Internal Affairs.
Authorities discovered the illegal operation within Sh.Kh.'s apartment, seizing evidence at the scene. Legal proceedings have been initiated under Article 278 of the Criminal Code (Organization and Conduct of Gambling and Other Games Based on Risk).
Earlier, a similar incident was reported in the Yakkasaroy district of Tashkent, where foreign nationals were found running an online gambling operation in a rented house.
