22-year-old blogger was arrested for promoting online gambling in Fergana (video)

A blogger was arrested in the Fergana region for promoting online gambling on his Instagram page, according to a report by the press service of the Fergana Regional Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The Cyber Security Department of the Fergana Ministry of Internal Affairs discovered that the account owner had been actively advertising risky online gambling games on the social media platform. 

Investigations revealed that the blogger promoted online gambling by sharing various advertisements on his Instagram page. Following swift action by authorities, a suspect, a 22-year-old resident of the Kuva district born in 2002, was detained.

"I unknowingly promoted gambling games. I deeply regret my actions," the suspect stated.

An investigation into the matter has been launched.

It is worth noting that a previous investigation by the Tashkent Regional Office of the Competition Committee uncovered instances where "Hamkor Reklama Servis" LLC had displayed bookmaker advertisements on outdoor structures in Tashkent’s Yunusabad and Mirzo Ulugbek districts. Legal action was taken in response.
