In Fergana, officials caused 4.6 billion sums worth of damage to nature

It was found that 1,213 trees growing on the banks of the Katta Andijan canal in Fergana region were cut down in January-February, as a result of which 4.6 billion sums of damage were caused to nature.  This was reported by the press service of the General Prosecutor’s Office today, July 26.

It is said that the General Prosecutor’s Office, in cooperation with the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, carried out research in the territory of Fergana region, and in it, on the banks of the Big Andijan canal in the Norin-Fergana irrigation system,  It was found that 1213 standing trees were deliberately cut down by the officials of “Baghdodmahsussuvpudrat” LLC and others in January-February of this year, causing 4.6 billion sums of damage to the flora.

In connection with the situation, the prosecutor’s office of Fergana region initiated a criminal case under Article 198 of the Criminal Code (damaging or destroying fields, forests, trees or other plants).

According to reports, the internal affairs authorities are conducting preliminary investigations.  Also, the General Prosecutor’s Office supervised the investigation of this criminal case.
