Inscriptions concerning Mirzo Ulugbek and Alisher Navoi have been found in the Iranian town of Tainabad.  According to the report from the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, Tursunali Koziyev, the first Deputy Director of the Agency of Cultural Heritage, and Mansur Israilov, Head of the Tashkent Regional Department of Cultural Heritage, visited the Islamic Republic of Iran with the support of the Uzbekistan Embassy.

According to Tursunali Koziyev, there are many monuments of Timurid culture in the north-west of Iran. During his visit to Iran, Amir Temur met and befriended Sheikh Abu Bakr Zein-ul-Obidin Tayyibini in Tainabad, Mashhad province. He corresponded with her for many years. In honor of their friendship, Amir Temur’s son Shahrukh Mirzo built a magnificent mosque in Tainabad.

“The mosque has survived up to the present day and has preserved the friendly relations of many of our scholars. It is noteworthy that many rulers and celebrities came to the mosque and considered it an honor to pray. Within the walls of the mosque, there was a wall of honor for high-ranking guests, where guests write their wishes or inscriptions. Looking at them, we discovered something remarkable – the inscriptions of Mirzo Ulugbek and Alisher Navoi», –Tursunali Koziyev said.

It is reported that a scientific study of the works of Mirzo Ulugbek and Alisher Navoi is underway.
