Iranian-Uzbek match will be officiated by Korean referees

Today, June 11, the World Cup qualifying match between Iran and Uzbekistan will be officiated by a team of referees led by South Korean Kim John Heok.

Kim, 41, has been a FIFA referee since 2009 and officiated the 2014 World Cup qualifier between Mongolia and Myanmar.

To date, he has officiated two matches involving Uzbekistan's U-17 national team, one match involving the senior national team, and four matches involving Uzbek club teams. Notably, Uzbekistan's national teams have not lost under his officiating, though Uzbek clubs have lost in his last three matches.

The Iran-Uzbekistan match will kick off at 22:00 Tashkent time. The winner will secure first place in Group E of the Asian qualifiers.
