In recent days, a difficult situation has arisen in the fuel and energy sector in Uzbekistan. In particular, electricity is cut off at certain times of the day in almost all regions of the republic. This was reported by the Information Service of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
It is reported that in June of this year, a total of 34.8 million kWh of electricity was restricted, while this indicator was 175 million kWh during the last 31 days of July. Since the transition to the summer season, a total of 210 million kWh of mandatory restrictions have been applied.
Also, in June, in order to safely carry out modernization and reconstruction works in the system, targeted blackouts were carried out in a number of areas. As a result, 542 transformer substations and 592.36 kilometers of power lines, 923 transformers and 702.3 kilometers of overhead lines were repaired in the city of Tashkent alone. 930.6 km of low-voltage power transmission lines and 228 transformer points were updated according to the low-voltage power grid renewal program.
9 small power transformers at “Sagbon”, “Yunusabad”, “Koqon”, “Karvon”, “Korasuv”, “Yalangoch”, “Tuzel” and “Sergeli-35” substations were replaced with large power ones. Currently, construction of substations for “Yunusabad-City”, “Tashkent-City”, “Olmos”, “New Uzbekistan” and “Yangihayot” industrial zones and construction of new power transmission networks to supply them with electricity continued by the contracting organizations. In order to carry out these works safely and to prevent possible risks to the health and life of electricians, consumers in the relevant areas are temporarily disconnected from the electricity supply at certain times of the day,” the report said.
In July, overheated weather mainly in the republic makes it difficult to supply electricity continuously and without losses. This situation is not unique to Uzbekistan.
Anomalous hot temperatures prevail in almost all corners of the world today. The extremely hot temperature leads to a doubling of the use of electricity for cooling purposes. As a result, cables are burning, transformers are failing. Eliminating the consequences of the accident is the reason for the loss of a lot of money and a lot of time. According to the Ministry, in order to prevent an accident, the most appropriate measure is to forcibly disconnect several feeders from the network and temporarily cut off a number of households, budget organizations and business entities. This will help prevent unexpected accidents and save money and time.
“Simply speaking, disconnecting an area from the network for two to three hours in order to cool the cable that is hot from the outside in the sun, and from the inside due to overload, is better than the cable and transformer burning and consumers being without electricity for 10-12 hours. Is the solution. True, the consumer is always right. In addition, it is our duty to provide you, dear ones, with continuous and stable electricity. A lot of work is being done by system organizations in this regard. In particular, recently, daily production averaged 107.8%, monthly production averaged 106.2%, and the annual indicator was 101.8%. In recent days, a number of new production capacities – 2 power transmission lines of 500 kV voltage of the thermal station with a capacity of 1500 MW in the city of Shirin of the Syrdarya region, “Ispaysoy” micro-electric power plant with a capacity of 200 kW in the Bostonliq district, and Yashnabad district, a new “Olmos” substation, which supplies more than 30,000 households with electricity, was launched,” it is added.
According to reports, the consumption is corresponding to it. For example, today the average consumption is equal to 11,200 MW per day. Even at certain times of the day, especially during hot weather, electricity consumption is equal to the amount of electricity produced, sometimes exceeding the demand. The fact that the indicator is recorded also clearly confirms it. In particular, on July 12, the total consumption in the republic was 247.5 million kWh, and on July 26, it reached 250.7 million kWh, and the daily record was renewed once again. However, in the current situation, not taking the necessary precautions, saying that “I will ensure continuity no matter what,” realizing that an inevitable emergency situation may occur, and not disconnecting the areas that have started to overvoltage in the desire to achieve stability is not a solution, on the contrary, it leads to a big problem. Will bring. In such a situation, it is the most optimal way to strictly observe energy saving, to cool only one room, not all rooms in apartments, to disconnect unused electrical equipment from the network, to turn off light bulbs when not necessary, especially during the day. Said in the message.
