In collaboration with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Ecology will launch the next “Clean Air” month in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regional centers, and Tashkent city. This event will take place in two stages to assess the environmental condition of vehicles.
The first stage will run from April 10 to May 10, while the second stage will be held from August 10 to September 10, with an extended period in Tashkent from September 10 to October 10.
During “Clean Air” month, vehicles will undergo regular inspections at traffic police stations, during mandatory technical inspections, and as part of the campaign. Drivers of vehicles found to be environmentally defective will face penalties in line with Articles 87 (concerning emissions exceeding permissible limits) and 125 (violation of vehicle usage rules) of the Code of Administrative Responsibility. Additionally, according to Article 13 of the Law “On Atmospheric Air Protection,” vehicles deemed harmful to the atmosphere will be prohibited from use until the issue is rectified.
"Dear drivers, we ask that you refrain from using vehicles that emit harmful substances exceeding the allowed limits!" the ministry said in a statement.
