3 people are arrested in connection with the case of 58 trees “killed” in Chilanzor

The head of the construction organization, who illegally cut down 58 trees of various species in the Chilanzar district of Tashkent city has paid compensation for the damage caused to nature in the amount of 797.7 million soms.  This is reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

In addition, three suspects were detained under article 221 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

It should be recalled that on 7 September of the current year, a private construction company in the Chilanzar district of Tashkent uprooted 58 ornamental and fruit trees, despite a direct ban.

The State Committee for Ecology and Environmental Protection had estimated that 797,700,000 soms of damage to nature had been caused by the cutting down of trees.

Criminal proceedings were instituted under article 198, paragraph 3, of the Criminal Code (damage or destruction of fields, forests, trees, or other plantations).
