Citizen was fined over 17 million soums for cutting down a tree

A citizen in the Sergeli 7 district of Tashkent was fined for cutting down a tree. This was reported by the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change.

It was noted that a tree was cut down by citizen Y.U. in the "Madadkor" neighborhood, resulting in damage to nature estimated at 8 million 840 thousand soums.

An administrative report was filed against the offender under Part 1 of Article 79 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility (Illegal cutting, felling, damaging, destroying, or transplanting trees, bushes, other plants, and seedlings). Y.U. was fined 8 million 500 thousand soums, bringing the total amount the offender must pay to 17 million 340 thousand soums.

Additionally, according to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 464, Y.U. was required to plant 100 saplings as compensation for the cut tree.

We remind you that earlier, individuals who cut down 21 pine trees were sentenced to 2 years in prison.
