Psychotropic substances worth 1 billion soums seized in Chilanzar

Strong-acting substances with a total estimated value of 1 billion soums have been uncovered in Chilanzar district of Tashkent, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

According to the report, a Damas vehicle driven by a man identified as D. was stopped and inspected in the presence of witnesses. During the search, officers found a total of 368 white strong-acting pharmaceutical items in the vehicle’s interior. The necessary documents were drawn up in the presence of two witnesses, and the case was referred to the district police department for preliminary investigation.

After reviewing surveillance cameras in the area, officers identified a person who had allegedly hidden the strong-acting drugs at various locations using the zakladka method. The individual was identified, and his residence was inspected in the presence of witnesses.

During the inspection, officers found a black plastic bag near a sofa in the bedroom containing a glue container filled with a white powdery substance, zip bags, rolls of electrical tape in various colors, one electronic scale, and a yellowish stone-like substance. All items were seized and documented in the presence of witnesses.

The оперативive operation was then continued, and two suspicious individuals traveling in a Gazelle vehicle were inspected in the presence of witnesses. As a result, officers found a total of 391 capsules containing strong-acting substances under a seat. In addition, 59 glue containers filled with an unidentified liquid were discovered in the small rear cargo compartment of the vehicle.

All material evidence recovered from the vehicle was formally documented in the presence of witnesses and handed over to the forensic examination center.

As a result of the operation, strong-acting pharmaceutical substances with a total value of 1 billion 28 million 500 thousand soums were officially seized.

Earlier, a group made up of pensioners was detained in Surkhandarya region for distributing narcotic substances.
