Former Bukhara prosecutor was appointed head of Legislative Chamber Office

Mahmud Shukhratovich Istamov, who served as the prosecutor of the Bukhara region from January 2021 to February 2024, has been appointed as the head of the office of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis. This information was reported on the Lower House of Parliament's website.

Mahmud Istamov, born in 1979, holds a higher education degree and graduated from Tashkent State Law Institute with a specialty in law.

From 2014 to 2017, Istamov led the Department of Cooperation with Political Parties of the Oliy Majlis, the Service of Cooperation with Political and Public Organizations, and the Legislation Department of the Judiciary and Legal Affairs Service of the Presidential Administration.

Between 2017 and 2019, he held the roles of Deputy Minister of Justice and First Deputy. On June 13, 2019, Mahmud Istamov was elected deputy chairman of the Central Election Commission.

Istamov was appointed as the prosecutor of the Bukhara region in January 2021 and served until February 2024.
