Following President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's visit to Bukhara two months ago, 1.4 trillion soums have been allocated to the region. This announcement was made today, August 12, during a video conference on measures to enhance the effectiveness of the visit, introduce alternative energy sources, and create attractive conditions for industrial enterprises.

According to decisions signed by the President today, an additional 60 million dollars will be allocated for entrepreneurship, and 40 million dollars will be dedicated to infrastructure.

The governor of the region, along with his deputies and district governors, has been instructed to implement these measures, set specific tasks for local organizations, establish KPIs for their employees, and focus on achieving concrete results daily. Future evaluations will involve analyzing and discussing the actual situation in each industry and region.

Additionally, officials were warned that leaders who exhibit laziness, based on the experiences of Saykhunabad, Uychi, Zarbdar, and Gijduvan districts, will face severe consequences. Those responsible for mistakes in Saykhunabad and Uychi were directed to take corrective measures and address the backlogs. Based on Zarbdar's experience, a target has been set to create at least 5 "driver" projects in each district and city. Following Gijduvan’s model, there will be a goal to prepare 1,000 "vertical" industrial building projects in each neighborhood and launch them by the end of the year.

The primary focus in Bukhara is the development of services. It is anticipated that this development will lead to a 23 percent increase in engineering and pharmaceuticals and a 30 percent increase in electrical engineering.

Bukhara currently has 584 guest houses, 122 restaurants, 18,500 shops, and 30 health and fitness centers. However, the number of kitchens and restaurants per thousand people is ten times fewer than in Samarkand. Shafirkon, with a population of 200,000, is the third-largest district in the region but ranks last in terms of service provision.

While acknowledging the exemplary work in the Vobkent, Romitan, and Jondor districts, the President expressed strong disapproval of the lack of initiative and slow progress in other districts and the renovation of central streets and public areas.

For reference, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev previously congratulated the nation on the historic victories of Uzbek athletes at the Paris Olympics.
