Authorities in the Bukhara region have detained another individual with $20,000 in cash, according to a report by UzA.

During an operational operation, a person identified as A.R. was apprehended after agreeing to sell 4 hectares of a 278-hectare water body located in the Kochkumar mahalla of Bukhara district. A.R. had promised to transfer ownership to an LLC for $280,000, allegedly using connections with officials to prepare the necessary documents. The suspect was caught red-handed while receiving $20,000 as an advance payment.

A criminal case has been initiated against A.R. under Part 4, Clause “a” of Article 168 (Fraud) and other related articles of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan.

Preliminary investigative actions are currently underway.

It is worth noting that similar incidents have been reported recently. An investigator from the Almazar district prosecutor's office in Tashkent was previously caught accepting a $20,000 bribe, and another prosecutor's office employee was detained for bribery in Namangan.
