8779On May 13, QALAMPIR.UZ was contacted by a student who completed their studies through the evening course at Bukhara State Technical University in January 2025. According to the student, although the final exams were held on March 14, 2025, neither the diploma nor the diploma supplement has been issued to date.
The student noted that when they approach the dean’s office, they are redirected to the personnel department, and when they go there, they are sent back to the dean’s office. As a result, students are left without answers or documentation, making it difficult for them to secure employment.
“In the meantime, we have not received any documents. If we want to apply for a job, they require a diploma. If at least an electronic copy of the diploma is provided, it would be easier for us to get a job,” the student said.
In order to clarify the situation, QALAMPIR.UZ contacted Nazokat Abdukunduzova, the press secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation. According to her, the delays are due to the reorganization of the university.
“There have been delays in issuing diplomas due to the new establishment of the Bukhara State Technical University on the basis of the Bukhara Engineering and Technology Institute and the Bukhara Institute of Natural Resources Management. Diplomas will be awarded to graduates by May 20 of this year,” Abdukunduzova stated.
It is worth noting that this university has previously been at the center of public attention after two students committed suicide in succession, raising serious concerns about its internal management and student support systems.
