5689A man who abused his wife and minor child in the Bukhara region has been sentenced to 15 days of imprisonment. This information was reported by the Children's Ombudsman.
It was revealed that A.U., born in 2008, appealed. In his appeal, the boy stated that only his mother works regularly in the family, while his father lacks official employment. According to the boy, his father consumes alcohol daily, spending the little money he occasionally earns. The father reportedly comes home in the middle of the night, engages in quarrels, insults, and physically assaults family members.
The boy also reported that his father had threatened to kill his mother and had forcibly expelled his brother from the home. A.U. mentioned that his mother had obtained a protection order due to domestic violence, but the father was not complying with the order. The boy appealed for protection for himself, his mother, and his brother from his father's mental and physical abuse.
The investigation confirmed the child's statements. On August 14 of this year, it was confirmed that A.U.'s mother, G.D., had been subjected to further violence by the father, G.N., who had failed to comply with the protection order issued by the Ministry of Defense to prevent violence and harassment.
Furthermore, G.N. was found guilty by the district court under Article 183 (Petty Bullying) and Article 194 (Failure to Comply with the Legal Requirements of an Internal Affairs Officer) of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, Part 1, and was sentenced to 15 days of administrative imprisonment.
In addition, due to the father's addiction to alcohol, the court initiated procedures to place him in compulsory treatment. After serving his administrative sentence, steps will be taken to ensure he undergoes mandatory treatment.
It should be noted that a similar incident occurred earlier in Bukhara, where a 15-year-old boy filed a complaint with the Children's Ombudsman regarding harassment by his mother.
