The number of serious and extremely serious crimes increases in Bukhara

The number of serious and extremely serious crimes is increasing in the Bukhara region. This was reported by UzA.

It was reported that during the first 7 months of 2023, a total of 2,683 crimes were registered in the region, which is 67 more than the corresponding period of the previous year. In particular, robbery in the region increased by 8%, extortion by 6%, fraud by 9%, and hooliganism by 17%.

Additionally, during the last 7 months of this year, a total of 819 serious and extremely serious crimes were recorded, marking an increase of 39, or 5%, compared to the previous year.

If we analyze these crimes by individuals, we can observe that while crimes committed by the unemployed decreased by 44, crimes committed while intoxicated increased by 18, crimes by minors increased by 77, crimes by women increased by 123, crimes by youth increased by 144, and crimes by individuals with prior convictions increased by 41.

We would like to remind you that the list of countries with the highest crime rates in 2023 was published earlier. Among the countries of Central Asia, Kyrgyzstan ranks among the nations with the highest levels of crime. In the country, 56.87 people out of every 100,000 committed crimes, placing Kyrgyzstan in 31st place in the index. Kazakhstan also experiences a significant number of crimes, ranking 40th with a rate of 53.77 per 100,000 people.

Uzbekistan, on the other hand, is among the countries with relatively lower crime rates. In Uzbekistan, 33.42 people per 100,000 committed crimes, earning it the 99th place in the ranking. Turkmenistan and Tajikistan are not included in the list.
