In Bukhara, a bank employee stole money from the plastic bags of 41 people

In the Bukhara region, a 21-year-old bank employee was found to have stolen more than $21 million from the plastic bags of 41 people. This was reported by the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

It was reported that a citizen born in 1987 applied to the head of the District Internal Affairs Department and stated that money was lost from his bank card.

The person who embezzled the money was found to be a bank employee during the prompt investigation.

During the investigation, this employee stole a total of 21,900,000 soums from 41 out of 48 bank cards opened for the purpose of receiving pension payments, material assistance, and allowances for citizens up to 2 years of age from November 2022 to May 29, 2023. He used this money for personal needs.

In response to this situation, a criminal case was initiated under Article 169, Part 1 of the Criminal Code against the cashier of a bank branch in the Gijduvan district, born in 2002.

"The stolen funds have been recovered, and the preliminary investigation is currently underway," stated the ministry.
