8384Hafiza Toymurodovna Ortikova has been appointed Deputy Governor of the Bukhara Region — Head of the Department of Family and Women. The regional government’s press service made the announcement.
Her predecessor, Feruza Bahodirkhonovna Ibragimova, was dismissed from the post due to her transfer to a new position.
Hafiza Ortikova was born on December 24, 1976, in the Bukhara District. She graduated from Bukhara State University in 1997 and holds the titles of Doctor of Biological Sciences and Professor. Before this appointment, she served as the First Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs and Spiritual and Educational Affairs at the Bukhara State Pedagogical Institute.
This appointment follows a recent announcement by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on November 29, during a meeting focused on boosting investment and job creation in the Bukhara Region. The President emphasized that regional governors, their deputies, and sector heads would operate under an emergency work regime for the next six months.
On November 30, several key appointments were made in the region, including new mayors for the Peshku, Vobkent, and Korovulbozar districts, as well as the city of Kogon. Additionally, Mirali Muhammadjonovich Hamroyev, the former Deputy Governor for Youth Policy, Social Development, and Spiritual and Educational Work, was replaced by Bakhtiyor Odilov, who previously served as the Head of the Main Department of Economics and Finance in the region.
