The case pertains to an additional charge levied on the "Bahouddin Naqshband" memorial complex in the Bukhara region, as reported by the Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Following an appeal from the memorial complex, it was found that the complex was being charged an extra fee above the established tariff for electricity. The joint-stock company's calculations for the electricity supplied to the "Bahouddin Naqshband" memorial complex were found to be non-compliant with current regulations, leading to overcharging.
As a result, it was discovered that the complex was overcharged by 115 million soums.
Consequently, a case was initiated against JSC "Bukhara Regional Power Networks Enterprise" in accordance with the legal procedure.
Previously, there had been reports in Uzbekistan alleging that electricity meters were charging consumers for excess kilowatts. However, the Ministry of Energy has stated that these reports are completely false.
