6740The court has issued a final verdict on citizens who illegally caught fish in the Bukhara region, as reported by the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change.
According to reports, on December 16, 2023, four individuals caught 12 Turkestan whiskered fish, 7 Tovanbalik, 17 Zogora, and 1 Moybalik, all of which are listed in the Red Book, from Lake "Ogitma" using a prohibited method—specifically, a net. As a result, damage amounting to 292 million 162 thousand sums was inflicted on nature, and the relevant documents were submitted to the court.
As a consequence, three of the offenders were sentenced to four years and six months of imprisonment under Article 202 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Violation of the Order of Use of Fauna and Flora). Additionally, another offender was sentenced to two years of imprisonment under Article 57, along with clauses "g," "e," and "j" of Article 202, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
It should be noted that earlier, in the Konimekh district of the Navoi region, an individual was found to have illegally caught 218 fish, causing damage to nature amounting to 1 billion 240 million sums.
