According to the official statement, unsubstantiated details concerning the incident have been circulating on various social media platforms. Authorities emphasize that the regional prosecutor's office is closely monitoring the case and request citizens to rely solely on information provided by official sources rather than rumors.
The district prosecutor's office has opened a criminal case under Article 235 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to torture and other forms of cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment and punishment. This action follows the death of a suspect who was under investigation by the Boka district IIB. The Serious Crimes Investigation Department is currently handling the proceedings.
To recap the events leading to this situation, on June 4 of this year, a citizen involved in the IIB investigation within the Boka district of the Tashkent region experienced a deterioration in their condition, ultimately resulting in their demise at a local hospital. The Ministry of Internal Affairs disclosed that officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Boka district failed to follow proper protocols by taking the individual to the service room instead of the designated interrogation room.
The citizen had been under investigation for their alleged involvement in another crime. Unfortunately, during the process, the citizen's health deteriorated, leading to their untimely death. Preliminary findings from the medical examiner's report indicate that the deceased had suffered from blunt force trauma.
In response to the citizen's passing, two operatives involved in the incident have been apprehended. Furthermore, A. Bobakhonov, the head of the Boka district DIA, his first deputy V. Khudoykulov, the head of the criminal investigation department J. Subanov, the head of the investigation department J. Ochilov, and the head of the duty section Sh. Ibragimov have been relieved of their duties.
As the investigation progresses, authorities are committed to ensuring transparency and accountability in this case. The Prosecutor's Office of the Tashkent region and other relevant departments will continue their efforts to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the citizen's death.
