The most concerning incident at the Paris Olympics was when male athletes competed against women. On August 12, the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, addressed this issue during the award ceremony for the Olympic medalists.

"The most troubling aspect this time, and something I believe our people strongly disapprove of, was the participation of male athletes dressed in women's clothing. This is entirely unacceptable. Despite this, our daughter Sitora bravely fought until the end against a male competitor from Taipei.

The fact that Diyora became a champion, that Svetlana won a silver medal, and that Sitora fought courageously without fear—this all signifies that our girls are not inferior to boys; they are brave and they are leaders, correct?" said the Prime Minister.

Sitora Turdibekova from Uzbekistan competed against Lin Yui-Ting, a representative of Chinese Taipei (Taiwan), who has been the subject of gender-related controversy. Unfortunately, Sitora was defeated in the end. Lin Yui-Ting did not participate in the 2023 Women's World Championship—rather, she was barred from participating in the World Cup—but the International Olympic Committee allowed her to compete in the Olympic Games, where she ultimately won the gold medal.
