Bu Andersson departs from UzAuto Motors

Swedish specialist Bu Andersson is concluding his tenure as General Director of "UzAuto Motors" JSC and "UzAuto Motors Powertrain" JSC, positions he has held for the past three years. This announcement comes from the press service of "UzAuto Motors".

The report highlights that Andersson's leadership has yielded positive financial results for the company, with the average net profit exceeding 6 percent. During his tenure, "UzAuto Motors" JSC also successfully conducted an initial public offering (IPO).

Reflecting on his time at "UzAuto Motors", Andersson stated, “All the results achieved over the past 3.5 years are the outcome of our entire team’s efforts: engineers, managers, craftsmen, and most importantly, the workers. I firmly believe that people are the foundation of any enterprise. Among the key achievements, I am particularly proud of introducing a clear and precise KPI system that motivates everyone based on success and results.”

- 1993 to 2009: Held various leadership roles in the procurement department at General Motors, heading the global procurement division from 2001 to 2009.
- 2009 to 2013: Appointed President of the GAZ Group, where he successfully led the company from losses to sustained profitability.
- 2014 to 2016: Served as President of "AvtoVAZ" OJSC, driving a comprehensive transformation of the company.
- Post-2016: Led Yazaki Europe, Africa, North & South America, a major automotive components manufacturer, for four years.

- Awarded "Best Leader of 2010" at the Adam Smith International Automotive Forum for his contributions to the Russian automotive industry.
- Recognized as "Best European Automotive Industry Leader in Emerging Markets" at the 2011 Eurostars awards by Automotive News Europe.
- Received the "Best Achievement" award from Automotive Supply Chain in 2012 for revitalizing GAZ Group’s financial standing and securing its leadership in the Russian light commercial vehicle market.

Andersson's extensive experience in managing automotive enterprises across the CIS region and his crisis management skills have helped "UzAuto Motors" navigate global challenges such as semiconductor shortages and logistics issues. His leadership has set the stage for future growth and modernization at the company.

"UzAuto Motors" JSC and "UzAuto Motors Powertrain" JSC are major subsidiaries of the state-owned "UzAvtosanoat" JSC, producing Chevrolet passenger cars under a technical license agreement with General Motors.

Andersson was appointed General Director of "UzAuto Motors" JSC and "UzAuto Motors Powertrain" JSC in August 2021.
