Female vendor who quarreled with DIA officers in the market was fined

A video showing a dispute between a female vendor and DIA officers at the farmer's market in Shorchi district, Surkhandarya region, went viral on social media. The footage depicts the officers escorting the woman away. The Shorchi district administration's press service addressed the incident.

According to reports, the altercation captured in the video occurred in September 2023.

The district governor's statement detailed the incident: "In the middle of the Shorchi farmer's market while selling food products on the roads, the seller, Kha.A., resisted despite efforts by district police officers to maintain public order. When the district DIA and Post Patrol Service employees were documenting the incident, she tore the document from their hands and insulted them."

The saleswoman was taken to the District DIA building, where documents were prepared, and an administrative report was drawn up under Article 183, Part 1 of Article 194, and Part 1 of Article 195 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Shorchi district court on criminal cases fined the woman ten times the base amount, totaling three million three hundred thousand soums.

As a reminder, in March, other saleswomen in Surkhandarya were punished for sprinkling salt water on a tax collector.
