Uzbekistan to launch state scholarship honoring Botir Zokirov

A state scholarship named after Botir Zokirov will be established in Uzbekistan. This is stated in the presidential decree titled “On Measures to Perpetuate the Memory of the People's Artist of Uzbekistan Botir Zokirov, Study His Creative Heritage and Promote It Worldwide”, adopted on July 28.

According to the resolution, a memorial museum dedicated to Botir Zokirov will be created in Tashkent, and a state scholarship bearing his name will be introduced.

Starting from 2026, the international pop art contest named after Botir Zokirov will be held every two years. In addition, a feature film dedicated to the life and artistic legacy of Botir Zokirov will be produced.

It was previously reported that the Sherali Jorayev Higher School of Music and Arts will be established on the foundation of the Andijan Art School, and the Sherali Jorayev National Singing Competition will be held annually.
