20109A video surfaced online allegedly depicting Chief Prosecutor Nigmatilla Yoldoshev conversing with Sherali and Abduvali Abdullayev, who were wanted for fraud, hinting at their imminent acquittal. However, the Prosecutor General's Office denied this, stating that the individuals in the video were not the wanted suspects.
It is reported that Prosecutor General Nigmatilla Yoldoshev traveled to Turkey between January 2-4, 2024, at his own expense for health treatment at the "Medipol Mega" medical clinic during his work vacation. He was accompanied by Azim Joraboyev, a prior acquaintance.
“During a conversation with Chief Prosecutor Azim Joraboyev at the clinic, a person named Sherali, whose actual surname is Sobirjonov, approached and introduced himself. He mentioned bringing his child for treatment and recognized the Prosecutor General, initiating the conversation. Thus, one of the individuals besides the Prosecutor General is Sherali Sobirjonov, not Abduvali Abdullayev, with the other being Azim Joraboyev” the report stated.
On May 10, 2018, Abduvali Abdullayev obtained a loan of 1.1 million USD from the bank for "Bakhmal Juice Master" LLC. Due to deliberate non-payment of 633 thousand USD of the loan, the property of "Uzengilulgurjisavdo" LLC was transferred to the bank's possession, causing significant damage to societal interests.
Following the initiation of a criminal case against Abduvali Abdullayev on January 25, 2021, under Article 168, Part 4, Clause "a" of the Criminal Code, the accused faced charges under various articles of the criminal code. A preliminary investigation was temporarily suspended due to the accused's unknown whereabouts.
Rahmatilla Abdullayev, son of Abduvali Abdullayev, was also implicated in the criminal case, facing charges under Articles 168, 233, and 184 of the Criminal Code. On June 13, 2022, Rahmatilla Abdullayev was found guilty under Article 184, acquitted of charges under Articles 168 and 233, and fined accordingly by the Yakkasaroy District Court.
Despite an appellate ruling on September 27, 2022, upholding the earlier verdict, a subsequent decision by the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan on February 28, 2023, annulled the previous ruling and remanded the case to the appellate instance for reconsideration.
On June 26, 2023, the court of appeals of the Tashkent region annulled the initial verdict, finding Rahmatilla Abdullayev guilty under Articles 168 and 184 of the Criminal Code. He was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months of imprisonment and a fine. Subsequently, the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan's criminal trial panel of the cassation instance annulled this ruling, sending the case back for reconsideration.
