16484In Samarkand, a man who reprimanded children for stealing apples from his garden by tying them with a rope, beating, and injuring them was labeled a lynching "samosud." Jahongir Sagdullayev, the press secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Samarkand region, reported this to QALAMPIR.UZ.
T.O., a resident of the "Oqoltin" neighborhood, caught some children stealing apples from his orchard. He brought them to his teahouse and scolded them. Later, the father of one of the children arrived, assaulted T.O., injuring him, and tied him up. On July 8, Narpai, the owner of the park, filed a complaint with the District DIA, requesting legal action.
Additionally, on June 6, the children's father filed a complaint with the Narpay district DIA, alleging that his friend T.O. had insulted, beaten, and injured the children who stole apples, tying them with a rope, and requested legal action.
"A criminal case has been initiated under Article 138 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Unlawful deprivation of liberty using violence), part 2, clause 'a,' and preliminary investigations are ongoing," said the press secretary of the DIA.
It is worth noting that earlier in Tashkent, individuals who acted as vigilantes against a drug courier were arrested.
