QALAMPIR.UZ received a complaint about the poor quality of food products provided to children at State Preschool Educational Institution No. 6, which operates under the Department of Preschool and School Education of the Yukori Chirchik District in the Tashkent Region. According to the complaint, the food served to children is unfit for consumption, and ingredients are not added to the dishes in accordance with regulations.

The complainant stated that this situation occurs regularly, and that food quality and portions are improved only prior to inspections.

The Tashkent Regional Department of Preschool and School Education responded to the complaint. It was reported that on October 8, a working group was formed to investigate the matter. The group includes representatives from the district Department of Preschool and School Education and the district Department of Sanitary-Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health.

The investigation revealed that the incident took place on September 16 during lunchtime. Educator J.E. had given the children sweets prepared by the cook, A.E., which had become burnt and unfit for consumption during cooking. An employee of the institution, S.P., who witnessed the situation, collected the sweets (“buns”) before they were served to the children and warned the suppliers to prevent similar incidents in the future.

However, during the inspection of the spoiled products, the organization’s nurse, D.H., incorrectly recorded them in the documentation as “high-quality and fit for consumption.”

Following the investigation, the cook A.E., who was employed by an outsourcing company, was dismissed by the company’s management due to negligence and irresponsibility in the work process.

The head of State Preschool Educational Institution No. 6, S.M., received a warning for inadequate oversight, while a disciplinary measure (“haifsan”) was applied to the nurse, D.H.

Currently, the food supply system and product quality control at the preschool are under strict supervision by employees of the district Department of Sanitary-Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health, and identified deficiencies are being addressed.

It is worth noting that earlier, QALAMPIR.UZ received a similar complaint regarding poor-quality and spoiled food served to children at Preschool Educational Institution No. 1 in the Nurabad District of Samarkand Region. The regional Department of Preschool and School Education responded to that incident as well, informing that the management of the outsourcing company “Proof Food” LLC had been officially notified.
