Gas and electricity worth 160.6 billion sums were stolen in one month

In November of this year, 1,614 cases of illegal use of natural gas and electricity by consumers were identified. This was reported by Navruz Norboboyev, head of the "Uzenergoinspeksiya" information service, at a briefing at the Information and Mass Communications Agency (IMCA).  

It is reported that November of this year has been declared "Energy Safety Month". Accordingly, during the control measures carried out by "Uzenergoinspeksiya" in cooperation with law enforcement agencies and specialists from electricity and gas supply enterprises, 160.6 billion sums of damage were identified in 1,614 cases.  

"In total, as a result of the illegal use of 24.1 million cubic meters of natural gas (70.1 billion sums) and 38.6 million kilowatt hours of electricity (90.4 billion sums), a total of 160.6 billion sums of damage was caused to the state's interests," said Norboboyev.  

It was reported that 876 administrative cases were registered for consumers' illegal use of energy resources. Of these, 547 were related to the use of electricity, and 329 were related to the use of natural gas. Preventive measures were also taken to ensure the efficient use of energy resources by 4,583 consumers. During the inspection, 5,960 cases of inappropriate use of lighting during daylight hours were identified, and reports on administrative violations were issued in 1,024 cases. Financial sanctions were also imposed on 6 enterprises.  

It should be recalled that previously, cases of illegal use of energy resources were revealed in the Urgut, Samarkand, Jomboy, and AkdaryA districts of the Samarkand region. They illegally used a total of 614 million sums of gas and electricity.
