Cost of registering one person in census announced

More than nearly $4.5 million was spent on the population census conducted in Uzbekistan. This was announced at a press conference of the Statistics Committee dedicated to the preliminary results of the population and agricultural census.
According to preliminary calculations, the cost of registering one person amounted to $0.12.
As reported earlier, according to the preliminary census results, Uzbekistan’s population stood at 39,047,321, with 97.3% of the total population covered by the process. The total cost of $4.5 million was calculated based on these figures, although this has not yet been officially confirmed.
In addition, according to the preliminary results of the population and agricultural census, 35.7 million people, or 91.3% of the population, indicated Uzbek as their native language. It was noted that this figure is 1.9 percentage points higher than the share of ethnic Uzbeks.
It was reported that Uzbeks accounted for 89.4% of the population by ethnic composition.
Earlier, it was reported that, according to the preliminary results of the population and agricultural census, 56,860 foreign citizens who have been living in Uzbekistan for more than one year were registered.
