Deputy mayor of Balikchi district was arrested

The Deputy mayor of the Balikchi district, located in the Andijan Region, has been arrested while receiving $30,000. This incident was reported by the State Security Service.

It has been disclosed that, during a rapid operation conducted in the region, 1.75 hectares of the 3.75 hectares of land within the reserve of the Balikchi district government were sold at a significantly reduced price through an "E-auction." The remaining 2 hectares were allocated by a decision of the district mayor in 2019 and registered under the buyer's name. When the involved parties attempted to receive $30,000 in exchange for this transaction, the chief specialist of the District Housing and Communal Economy Department, along with an employee of a medical services LLC, were apprehended with physical evidence.

Additionally, during the preliminary investigation, it was established that the transaction was to be facilitated through the deputy mayor of the district. The operation continued, resulting in the apprehension of this official while he was in the process of receiving $30,000.

Currently, criminal charges have been filed against the individuals involved. The deputy mayor of the district and the chief specialist of the Department of Housing and Communal Economy have been subjected to pretrial detention as a precautionary measure.
