Case of Aziz Voitov and 49 others to be heard in open court session

It was previously reported that the case involving former Minister of Agriculture Aziz Voitov had been brought to court. His case has been combined with that of Husniddin Karimov, the former director of the Agricultural Service Agency. The combined case is now being considered by the Yunusabad District Court on criminal matters, according to Aziz Obidov, the spokesman for the Supreme Court.

On August 15, the criminal cases related to Aziz Voitov and others, which were under the jurisdiction of the Mirabad District Court on criminal cases, and the case of Husniddin Karimov and others, which were under the jurisdiction of the Shaikhontohur District Court on criminal cases, were consolidated into one. A preliminary hearing regarding this merger was held in a closed court session by Article 405-6 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, resulting in the two cases being combined.

The open trial to consider the criminal case against Aziz Voitov and others (a total of 50 individuals) will begin on September 5, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. in the building of the Yunusabad District Court of Criminal Cases.

According to the indictment, the defendants are accused of committing crimes under Articles 167, 168, 184, 185-2, 189, 205, 206, 28, 209, 211, 228, and 243 of the Criminal Code.

It was also reported that precautionary measures, including "detention," "bail" for 15 individuals, and "recognizance not to leave" for 29 defendants, have been applied.
