Starting October 1, 2024, business entities in Uzbekistan that provide tour operator and hotel services will receive a 20% refund of the taxes they pay to the state budget. This is outlined in the Provisional Regulation, approved on November 7, regarding the return of part of the value-added tax (VAT) to businesses in the catering, tour operator, and hotel industries.

From January 1, 2025, additional tax refunds will apply to business entities in the catering industry, depending on the percentage of non-cash turnover in their monthly revenue:

- If non-cash turnover is 60% or higher, 40% of the tax paid to the budget will be refunded.
- If non-cash turnover is below 60%, 20% of the tax paid will be refunded.

Businesses can apply for this tax refund within three months after submitting their tax report.

Automatic tax refunds will be processed if the following conditions are met:

1. The tax calculated in the submitted report for the reporting period is fully paid.
2. Revenue from catering, tour operator, or hotel services accounts for at least 90% of the total turnover.
3. Invoices and cash register receipts accurately reflect the types of goods or services provided, with appropriate identification codes.

This regulation will be effective until January 1, 2028.
