The women's athletics competition at the Paralympic Games in Paris is ongoing.

Asila Mirzayorova from Uzbekistan, competing in the T11 class long jump event, set a new Paralympic Games record by achieving a distance of 5.22 meters on her first attempt. Asila will secure the gold medal if no other athlete surpasses this mark in the remaining attempts.

The previous record was established at the Atlanta Paralympic Games in 1996 by Ortiz from Spain, with a result of 5.07 meters. Asila successfully broke the 28-year-old Paralympic Games record.

In July 2023, Mirzayorova claimed the gold medal at the World Para Athletics Championship in Paris, France. The 25-year-old athlete also set a record and became a world champion in May of this year. Additionally, Mirzayorova is a silver medalist from the Tokyo 2020 Summer Paralympic Games.

It is worth noting that Uzbekistan's Paralympic athletes began the competition with two medals. In particular, para-swimmer Muslima Odilova finished third in her final event, earning a bronze medal for the delegation. In the women's para taekwondo competition in the -47 kg weight category, Uzbekistan's Ziyodakhan Isokova faced Peru's Leonor Angelica Espinoza Carranza in the final and won the silver medal.
