What caused the death of the child whose body was found in a ditch?  New information has been released

It was determined that the cause of the death of a 3-year-old boy, whose body was found by the edge of a stream in Urgut district of Samarkand region, was drowning.

This was reported by the regional emergency department.

It is said that the child, born in 2020, accidentally fell into the ditch in front of the house.  He was carried a certain distance and then was pulled out of the water by local citizens.  Despite the efforts of paramedics, the child died.

When research was carried out at the scene, based on the testimony of witnesses, it was found that water flowing in this ditch at a height of 20-30 centimeters.

“It wasn't a particularly strong current, it was just strong enough to wash away a young child,” said an employee of the Emergency Situations Department.

According to the information received by the Hydrometeorological Department of Samarkand region, 12.3 millimeters of rain fell in Urgut district yesterday, 3 April from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., which caused floods and landslides.

“There were reports on social networks that a young child was swept away by a flood.  This is unfounded, false information.  In this case, the young boy drowned due to carelessness,” said the employee of the Emergency Situations Department.

He also asked parents to pay careful attention to their children.

It should be recalled that yesterday, on 3 April, the body of a 3-year-old boy was found on the edge of a ditch in Urgut district of Samarkand region, and a forensic examination was appointed to determine the cause of his death.
