Road accident in Angren claims 7 lives, 5 injured

A fatal road accident involving several vehicles occurred today at 12:20 on the A-373 “Tashkent–Osh” international highway in Angren, Tashkent region. Seven people died in the incident, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
According to the ministry, the accident took place when a Shacman cement truck, driven by citizen A.R., born in 1981, lost control and crashed into two trucks and five passenger cars that were parked near a railway crossing. The truck, manufactured in 2020, was operated by a driver with 15 years of experience.
A fire broke out following the collision but was quickly extinguished with the help of emergency services and special equipment dispatched to the scene.
As a result of the accident, seven people died on the spot, while five others sustained various injuries and were hospitalized. Four citizens received medical assistance and were allowed to return home.
A government commission has been established under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Ochilboy Ramatov. The commission, which includes specialists from relevant government agencies, will investigate the circumstances of the crash, provide assistance to the victims and their families, and assess the legal responsibility for the incident.
