A 21-year-old bride committed suicide by hanging herself in Andijan

Earlier, there were reports of a 21-year-old bride's suicide in the Altinkol district of the Andijan region. It was reported that the deceased also had one child.

According to the Andijan regional court, the preliminary hearing for the case commenced on December 26 of this year.

However, the criminal case was reopened after the deceased's mother alleged that her son-in-law was responsible for her daughter's death. Although medical examinations confirmed that the injuries on her daughter occurred before her death, the mother claimed that this was not taken into account by the court.

Subsequently, the woman filed another appeal to the court. According to reports, a case regarding the defendant O.N. was received in the Altinkol district court's Criminal Investigation Department under Article 109, Part 2 (intentionally inflicting minor bodily harm) and Article 103, Part 2 (inducing suicide), Clause "a".

On February 20 of this year, the case was considered in an open court session at the JIB Oltinkol district court. According to the court's verdict, O.N. was found guilty under Clause "a" of Article 109, Part 2, and Article 103, Part 2 of the Criminal Code. As per the verdict, O.N. was sentenced to 9 (nine) years and 3 (three) months of imprisonment, partially combining the punishments imposed on him in accordance with Article 59 of the Criminal Code.
