“There are no irreplaceable people.” Toshkhojaev spoke about “Salimboyvachcha” and “Gofurboy”

At a press conference held on December 12 this year at the General Directorate of Internal Affairs of Tashkent city, Daniyor Toshkhojaev, the first deputy head of the HDIA, addressed the recent arrest of Salim Abduvaliev, the deputy chairman of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan and the chairman of the Sports Wrestling Association, known for his support of sports in Uzbekistan.

"I cannot comment on sports financing directly, but I can assert one thing: such matters won't pose a problem for our President. In simple terms, no one is irreplaceable. Therefore, those willing to support it will be found," stated the first deputy head of the HDIA.

Toshkhojaev mentioned that Abduvaliev's house was searched due to information about alleged illegal possession of weapons, which had been under investigation for a considerable period.

"We conducted a search at Salim Abduvaliev's residence based on information regarding alleged illegal possession of weapons. Our actions were prompted by this information, which had been under scrutiny for months and even years," explained Toshkhojaev.

Additionally, Toshkhojaev addressed reports about Gofur Rahimov, the vice-president of the Uzbekistan Professional Boxing Federation, being wanted.

"As of today, we have not received any reports regarding Gofur Rahimov, nor are any investigative actions being taken against him. If there is any information related to Rahimov, individuals are encouraged to come forward and provide it," added Daniyor Toshkhojaev.
