Abdulla Aripov visits China

On April 29–30 of this year, a delegation of the Uzbek government paid a working visit to the Chinese city of Urumqi. This was reported by the press service of the Prime Minister.

As part of the visit, a meeting took place between the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, and delegations from both countries, led by Ma Xingrui, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.

At the beginning of the meeting, the greetings of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, were conveyed to Chinese President Xi Jinping and the Secretary of the Xinjiang Party Committee.

It was emphasized that China is a reliable and time-tested strategic partner of Uzbekistan, and that bilateral relations are steadily strengthening. Cooperation between the two countries has reached the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership under all circumstances.

It was also noted that the close, reliable, and sincere brotherly ties between the leaders of both nations are of great significance.

During the meeting, both sides acknowledged the development of trade, investment, and technological cooperation. Thanks to the implementation of new projects in infrastructure, industrial collaboration, agriculture, and green energy, the trade turnover exceeded $13 billion last year. They also noted the potential to achieve the $20 billion target set by the heads of state.

In addition, the parties exchanged views on expanding multifaceted cooperation in the fields of trade and industry, transport and logistics, energy, agriculture, tourism, and education.
