High wind speeds and rainfall expected across Uzbekistan

Uzhydromet has reported that wind speeds in some regions of the country may reach 25–30 m/s on March 7–8 of this year.

According to the report, on March 6, strong winds are expected in the northern and desert areas, while on March 7–8, wind speeds of 17–22 m/s are anticipated in other parts of the country. In specific areas of Navoi and Jizzakh regions, gusts may occasionally reach 25–30 m/s.

Rainfall is predicted across the country on the night of March 7 into March 8, while the foothill and mountainous regions will experience precipitation in the form of rain or snow, with some areas seeing heavy rainfall. Daytime temperatures are expected to drop to 7–10°C.

It is worth noting that UzHydromet previously announced an avalanche risk in mountainous regions of the country due to expected precipitation and temperature fluctuations from March 6–11.
