A legal case has been initiated against the Ghazgon city administration in the Navoi region after violations were uncovered in tender sales exceeding 500 million sums. The Competition and Consumer Protection Committee reported these findings.

The Navoi regional branch of the Competition Committee conducted a review to ensure that the tenders held by the Ghazgon City Hall in 2024 complied with Uzbekistan's "Competition Law" and "State Procurement Law."

Specifically, the study examined four tenders related to the procurement of goods for installing cameras on Ghazgon’s main streets and purchasing household appliances and sewing machines for the "Youth Register" employment program. The total value of these tenders was 514 million sums.

The investigation revealed that the procurement commission improperly assessed the bid documents in all these state tenders. As a result, the regional administration initiated a case against the city administration for breaching Article 29 of the "Competition Law" and issued a formal directive to rectify the legal violations. An administrative report was also prepared and submitted to judicial authorities for further action.

In a related case, it was previously discovered that the state enterprise "Toza Hudud" in the Surkhandarya region had unlawfully earned 3.2 billion sums from its waste transportation services.
