The sentence is read to the deputy governor of Mirishkor district, who was caught with a bribe of 50,000 dollars

Deputy governor of the Mirishkor district of Kashkadarya Region U.Ya., who was detained while receiving a bribe in the amount of 50 thousand dollars was sentenced to 7-years imprisonment.

According to the press service of the Supreme Court, on 4 August, the trial on the defendants U.Ya. (He worked in the position of deputy khokim (governor) of the Mirishkor district - head of the department of support of the district and family) and X.B. (worked in the position of the head of the internal affairs department of the Mubarak district) ended and a verdict was announced.

According to the verdict of the court, U.Ya. was found guilty of committing the crimes provided for in the Part 4 of Articles 25, 168, Paragraph “a”, and Articles 28, 211, Part 3, paragraph “a” of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the deprivation of the right to work in positions.  Liability for a period of 2 years, a fine of 400 times the basic calculation amount, and imprisonment for 7 years were imposed.

X.B. was acquitted under Articles of 28 and 211, part 3 of the Criminal Code and Article 83, part 2 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.  X.B. was found guilty of committing a crime, stipulated by «a», «v» of Article 25, 168, part 3 of the Criminal Code of the the Republic of Uzbekistan, deprived of the right to hold responsible positions and material responsibility for a period of 2 years, and was sentenced to a fine of 300 times the basic calculation amount.  Under article 62 of the Criminal Code, a fine amounting to 213 times the basic calculation was imposed.

To date, this judgment, handed down by the court of the first instance, has not entered into force, and dissatisfied parties - within 20 days of the announcement of the verdict, and defendants and victims - within 20 days of receiving a copy of the verdict through this court are notified to have the right to lodge an appeal or a protest in criminal cases into the Kashkadarya regional court.

Recall that on 6 February, Deputy governor of Mirishkor district U.Ya. demanded 80,000 USD from the businessman as a bribe for the allocation of land and was caught red-handed when he received 50,000 US dollars.  On the basis of the case file, criminal proceedings were initiated under art.  168 part 4, paragraph “a”. and articles 28 and. 211 part 3, paragraph “a”.  The accused is remanded in custody.

In connection with the case, He was followed by H.B. W. Mubarak Internal Affairs' chief.  I alleged that he had conspired with him in advance and that he was also involved in the investigation.
