3 wrestlers from Uzbekistan won prizes at the Asian Championship

Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, holds the Asian Wrestling Championship.  The national team of Uzbekistan won 2 silver and 1 bronze medal in the competitions held on 13 April.  This was reported by the Press Service of the National Olympic Committee (NOC).

In the final of the -70 kg weight category, Zafarbek Otakhanov lost 0:2 to Kazakh Sanjar Dosanov, and in the decisive match of the -79 kg category, Bekzod Abdurahmanov lost to another Kazakh athlete, Bolat Sakayev, with a score of 4:7.  In this way, both Uzbek athletes finished the championship of the continent with a silver medal.

Maksud Veysalov won another bronze medal for the Uzbekistan team at the championship.  Veysalov, who fought for the 3rd place in the weight category of 97 kg, beat Indian Deepak Deepak by 12:9.

Today, 14 April, the competition will end.  On the last day of the tournament, the winners and prize-winners will be determined in the next 5 weight categories of freestyle wrestling.  5 athletes from Uzbekistan will compete in the program of the day.
