Uzbek athletes set new Asian and world records

Yesterday, February 5, the mixed 10-meter air pistol event was held at the Asian Shooting Championships currently taking place in New Delhi, India. Uzbek athletes Muhammad Kamalov and Nigina Saidqulova won the gold medal after setting new Asian and world records.

Notably, Kamalov and Saidqulova scored a total of 481.3 points in the event, surpassing the previous Asian and world records in this discipline.

For reference, Muhammad Kamalov also competed in the Altyn Mergen Grand Prix international shooting tournament held in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, in 2025, where he won a bronze medal.

Earlier, at the World Para Athletics Championships hosted in New Delhi, India, Uzbek athlete Navruza Akhmatova set a new Asian record and finished among the medalists of the world championship.
