In 2022, 2,356 people died in Uzbekistan due to road traffic accidents. This was reported by the Traffic Safety Service of the Department of Public Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
It is noted that 9902 accidents occurred last year. As a result of car accidents, 2,356 people died, and 9,606 people received various degrees of injury.
Most of the traffic accidents recorded involved cars. Also, 4,449 of them involved pedestrians, and 3,093 occurred as a result of vehicle collisions.
Most of the traffic accidents were caused by not following the speed limit (1577). The fewest accidents were caused by not having a traffic light or road sign installed (214).
According to statistics, 345 of 9902 accidents were committed by women and 9557 by men.
In addition, most accidents in the republic occurred between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
