6491A 24-year-old Uzbek nanny in Russia has been accused of causing the death of a 6-month-old baby. The incident occurred on October 15 in St. Petersburg, according to "78.ru".
The baby’s parents had left their infant in the care of the nanny. While bathing the child, the baby slipped from the nanny's hands and hit his head on the tub. Initially, the nanny reported that the baby had developed a fever and administered Nurofen. Shortly after, the baby began experiencing convulsions and lost consciousness. Despite the nanny’s call for an ambulance, the medical team was unable to save the child, who was brought to the hospital in a state of clinical death. Preliminary findings indicate that the cause of death was blunt head trauma.
Investigations are ongoing, and authorities are currently considering whether to place the nanny in detention as a preventive measure.
It is worth noting that earlier, a criminal case was opened against an Uzbek driver in St. Petersburg’s Nevsky district for sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl.
